Top Offensive Prospects 2010

QB: Sam Bradford, University of Oklahoma. The biggest concern at the moment is Bradford's throwing shoulder. His short comeback from a pretty serious injury has been a cause for concern for many NFL teams who see this as a major risk. Bradford was plagued with injuries to end his college career, but to me he has proven more than enough throughout his career to show his projected abilities at the next level. He was a surefire first round pick to end the 2008 season and could have been the top player taken over Detroit Lions QB Mathew Stafford. His decision to return to play in 2009 with hopes of wining a National Championship turned out to be a bad one. If his arm can be returned back to good health Bradford is a no brainer.
Best of the Rest: Colt McCoy, Jevan Snead, and Tim Tebow all are candidates to make an impact at the next level.

RB: CJ Spiller, Clemson University. With high top-end speed, Spiller is as explosive as they come. He has a great blend of power and speed. He is s three-phase guy, with major potential running the ball, catching it and returning the ball. His talents are comparable to Reggie Bush. Even though Spiller split time with James Davis for most of his career, he still managed to put up some great numbers without the full workload.
Best of the Rest: Jonathan Dwyer and Evan Royster are potential starters at the next level.

WR: Dez Bryant, Oklahoma State University. Dez Bryant is the top receiver in this 2010 draft, period. However, because of his behavior off the field, some put him off as too big a risk to take high in the first round. If a team is willing to look past his mishaps in college they would be picking up a true talent at the wide receiver position. Bryant is similar in stature to Andre Johnson, at 6'-2”, 217 lbs he will dominate corners at the next level. Bryant is also a threat to return punts, with 3 return TD's in only 25 returns for his college career.
Best of the Rest: Arrellious Benn has talent similar to Anquan Boldin. Great size, speed and strength.

Ram's Plan at #1: Who Will be the First off the Board in 2010?

From “the greatest show on turf” to the “worst display on earth,” the St. Louis Rams have consistently been one of the worst franchises in the NFL in the latter half of the 2000's. After going 1-15 in 2009, 2-14 in 2008, and 3-13 in 2007 he St. Louis Rams have the first overall pick in the 2010 draft, and boy do they have a lot of issues to fix. The Rams struggled in all aspects of the game in the 2009 season, they are given a daunting task in choosing which side of the ball they would like to address first.

The Rams cannot and will not go another season with Marc Bulger as their starting quarterback; their offensive production has been abysmal (aside from Steven Jackson's stellar seasons at Running back). Because of the lack of passing threat, the Rams were forced to put hard miles on Steven Jackson's odometer this past year. Their offense was predictable, the only major threat in recent memory has been the Run.

The easiest way to fix this issue is to bring in an all signal caller at the QB position:

The top quarterback available is Oklahoma Sooner star, Sam Bradford. Plagued by injuries this past season Bradford's draft status has taken a major blow. That is why, in my eyes, it is in the Rams best interest to acquire an experienced quarterback who is ready from day-one. They do not have the time to wait for a rookie QB to be broken in.

With rumors milling about a possible trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for either Donovan McNabb or Michael Vick (who has been unproven since his return to football), the moves the Rams make this off season will determine whether or not they will take a Quarterback 1st or decide to just take the best available player on the board.

With the acquisition of either Donovan McNabb or Michael Vick in the off-season, the Rams will be able to address their problems on the defensive side of the ball by bringing in a stalwart defensive tackle to anchor their defensive line in University of Nebraska's Ndamokong Suh. Suh has an uncanny ability to get into the backfield. Look for him to be taken number one this year. Its a no brainer.
